The benefits of a dedicated number.

Whilst a dedicated number is more expensive than a keyword, there are certain benefits which often make the cost worthwhile:

1. To make things easy for senders.
   With a dedicated keyword, it must always be explained to the senders of MO SMS that they have to 'begin their message with XXXX'; with a dedicated number this is not needed.
2. Unrestricted keyword creation.
   With a dedicated number, you are free to create as many primary and secondary keywords as you like, whilst access to a dedicated keyword gives you access to secondary keywords only.

However, if the above benefits do not apply to your intended use of MO SMS, we recommend the use of one or more dedicated keyword(s) as it is a more affordable (and usually sufficient) way of becoming MO SMS-enabled.
