Details:

We are no longer providing support for messages being delivered to the US through the Global I messaging route.

This is on account of the strict rules and regulations which have been applied by the US network operators who insist upon:

  1. Short codes – Every MT SMS must be sent using a registered short code as its originator.
  2. Short code programs – The types of services, message flows, opt-in and opt-out procedures that a short code is used for must be registered with every carrier on which the service runs.
  3. Explicit permission – Every message sent to a US mobile user must have his/her explicit permission which must be obtained through his/her mobile device.

Please note that we will still continue to attempt message delivery because of the difficulty in differentiating between Canadian & US messages, but the US has been removed from our coverage lists and we will not be able to provide technical support for any issue relating to delivery in the US via Global I.

Customers who wish to launch a carrier-compliant program in the US, but find the above requirements too expensive and time-consuming, should contact us for more details about our shared short code program.
